From the cover of the book to the publishing company materials, I’ve used the image above as a recurring motif. It carries a deep meaning – one rooted in my vision of the void – and I wanted to share that here.
I call the image Emergence. It weaves together three distinct ideas:
- The outer band of black, representing the void – an infinite fertile nothingness.
- The inner tai chi symbol, expressing the interplay of the active and passive forces of reality.
- The subtle pixelation, evoking the tiny points of light in my vision as nothing becomes, and the void gives rise to reality.
Taken together, this symbol is the closest I’ve come to expressing, in visual form, the architecture of my vision: a cosmos in which the seeds of reality are planted in the fertile ground of the void, and nothing becomes.
